There are rumors flying all around that we’re going to have the latest Windows 8 operating system soon. However, nobody seems sure of the exact release date. The leaked slides somehow reveal that windows 8 will be available for holiday but it’s still unsure, which holiday?
Some sources have even confirmed that ‘milestone 1 build’ has already been completed and coding will probably begin in June. The slides also suggest first beta version of IE9 to be released in August.
It is however more likely to be coming in late 2011 or early 2012 as milestone 3 build is not expected before November. There is also some good news for PC vendors seeking new form factors. With lot of improvement, Windows 8 tablets may probably rival the iPads. Along with big improvements for magnifier and on-screen keyboard, Microsoft has also considered stereoscopic 3D, high-color displays, network-connected TVs, mobile broadband and 4G, touch screens, voice, and facial recognition. Microsoft is aiming at branding and optimizing of the application store to attract app developers too.
One of the core expected features is far better hardware acceleration improving the overall multimedia rig. This will definitely help in saving the battery life. Help and support features will undergo some changes too. Microsoft has partnered with manufacturers to provide a thorough help solution in order to maintain their devices running Windows 8. Additionally, an application management program will probably be included to help you find and fix problem causing apps easily.
