How To Adjust Windows 7 User Interface For Best Performance

Windows 7 comes with a fair amount of attractive UI animation that can compromise on the performance of your computer. You’ll probably noticed a slowdown running Windows 7 on an older computer.

Windows 7 Performance Option

There ‘re few ways to fire up the classic Performance Options windows, type adjust perf into Start Menu -> Search Program and Files.

Here you can choose either one of the three automated settings, ie “Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer”, “Adjust for best appearance” and “Adjust for best performance”. Personally I’m not too fancy with all the impressive UI, so my choice is to have windows give me best performance over appearance.

Also you can select the “Custom option” if you prefer to manipulate the user interface manually. This gives you more flexibility on the features you rather keep and disable those that you can do without.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the “Animations in the taskbar and Start Menu” option is new to Windows 7. Disabling this option shorten the menu display time, will also remove the fading in and out effect in the task bar menu.

PS: Have you tried everything you could to improve the speed of your computer but nothing seems to work? If so, you might need a registry cleaner tool to fix underlying problem which could help boost your computer performance.
